CHADRAGIRI FORT, KASARAKODU,KERALA,INDIA

Thus the Chandragiri Fort was built by Sivappa Naik for the defence of his kingdom on 17th centuary. The fort changed hands over the years to Hyder Ali of Mysore and then to the British East India Company.
From kasarakodu railway station we have to go to Bus stand (1.5 Km) for getting bus to Chadragiri Fort. Get down at Melparamba bus stop. Continiously public transport buses are available to Chandragiri as well as Bekal Fort. Both are in same directions.

From Melparamba only 1 km to this fort. this fort is faced to Chadragori river and in this location the river is meeting Arebian Sea.

This fort is constructed with strong stones locally available and still it very good condition. This fort is maintained now by archeaological departmeent of kerala goverment and one office woith full time employee is deployed.
This is the entrance of Chadragiri fort more than 100 steps and having a parking place beyond that another road is available for avoiding these steps.
Front view of fort. All roads and arrangements are very natural. we got the feeling of we were in very old centuary. The big and thick walls without floring were interested.

The first attractive view from  150 ft heighted fort from sea level  was Chadragiri river, originating from Kodak from Karnatak state. This is very greenery and very water filled cool view.

This photo taken from front left corner of the fort. Now front portion of the fort and very strong boundary walls are are capturing our eyes. The front portion is constructed more than 20ft height from ground floor.
This is the inside view of exit of the Fort. Here our heart is filling with old constructions foundations, and thaughts about the historical value.
This is the deep pond and it having steps for entering. People beleavs that inside pond have cavern but not yet identified. In peak summer water is availble in this pond. The miracle is it is at the peak if a hill and near by ponds dont have water. Another deep well also availabile here. This snap from back boundary wall area by this can imagine area of this fort.
Available foundations of old constructions in the fort. in 19th centuary nobody cared about the fort and the stones were removed from here also these area used for playing.

From entrance first view of fort "S" type strategic entry constructed by fully covered thick heighted wall. In these walls having lot of holls directing entry way.The same type holls can see in boundary walls for targeting enemies.

For visiting here keep some water and eatables. availability of shops is nill near fort. we have to arrange from Malaparamba. On the way we will not feel a fort road by road conditions and village status. But from the fort the site watching and Chadragiri river realy holds my heart and eyes.
